NoGoon ("we", "our", "us") respects your privacy. This policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and your rights.

1. Information We Collect

Account Information

When you create an account via Sign in with Apple, we receive your Apple ID identifier and, optionally, your name and email address. We do not receive your Apple password.

Usage Data

We collect anonymized usage data to improve the app experience, including streak data, XP earned, missions completed, and feature usage patterns. This data is associated with your account but does not include personally identifiable information beyond what you provide.

Journal Entries

Journal entries and daily check-in reflections are stored locally on your device by default. They are never uploaded to our servers unless you explicitly choose to export them.

HealthKit Data

If you grant permission, NoGoon may read sleep and exercise data from Apple HealthKit to provide correlation insights. This data is processed on-device and is never sent to our servers or shared with third parties.

2. How We Use Your Information

  • To provide and maintain the NoGoon service
  • To track your streak, XP, rank, and progress
  • To enable social features (leaderboards, Battle Buddies, clans) if you opt in
  • To send push notifications you've opted into
  • To improve the app based on anonymized usage patterns

3. What We Don't Do

  • We never sell your personal data to third parties
  • We never track your browsing habits outside the app
  • We never share your journal entries with anyone
  • We never use your data for targeted advertising
  • We never store your Apple password or payment information

4. Data Storage & Security

Account and progress data is stored securely using Firebase with encryption at rest and in transit. We use industry-standard security measures to protect your information.

5. Social Features & Privacy

All social features (leaderboards, Battle Buddies, clans, community feed) support anonymous mode. You can participate without revealing your real identity. Display names are fully customizable.

6. Data Retention & Deletion

You can delete your account and all associated data at any time from within the app settings. Upon deletion, your data is permanently removed from our servers within 30 days.

7. Children's Privacy

NoGoon is rated 17+ on the App Store. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 17. If we learn that we have collected data from a child under 17, we will delete it promptly.

8. Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party services:

  • Firebase (Google) — Authentication, database, analytics
  • Apple Sign In — Authentication
  • Apple Push Notification Service — Notifications

Each service has its own privacy policy governing their data handling practices.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes through the app or via email.
